ICT Moodle includes courses for SIIT students, as well as courses for the public. SIIT students that are taking a course offered on Moodle will have an account created by the lecture. SIIT students should read the Moodle password information. They can ignore the rest of this page.
For non-SIIT students, many of the resources on ICT Moodle, including lecture notes and videos, are freely available - no login is needed. However quizzes and other activities do require you to login. This page gives a detailed example of how to create an account and enrol in a public course on ICT Moodle. There are two steps:
From the ICT Moodle front page, in the top-right corner select Log in. Direct link: https://ict.siit.tu.ac.th/moodle/login/index.php.
The login page uses HTTPS to provide encryption when sending your username and password. However it currently uses a self-signed certificate, meaning you will get a warning upon first visit. An example of the warning in Firefox is below. You need to select Add an exception.
You may be prompted to Confirm the security exception. If you want to be truly secure, then you should View the certificate and check the presented details match those in the picture on the right-hand side below. Those details (the fingerprints) are also listed at: https://sandilands.info/sgordon/doc/ict.txt.
You only need to accept the security exception once - your browser will not prompt again. Once accepted, you are lead to the log in page.
If you already have an account (most SIIT students taking courses on ICT Moodle do), then log in. Otherwise you need to select the button to Create New Account.
Fill in your account details. Once everything is correct, you will be automatically emailed instructions for the steps to verify the account. If you don't receive an email within an hour, you may contact Steven Gordon.
Once you have verified your account you can log in.
The previous step created an account on ICT Moodle. Now you must enrol in a course. Select the publicly available course that you are interested in, e.g. Networking.
On the course page, look for the Administration menu (may need to scroll down the page), and under Course administration there is a link to Enrol me in this course. Select it.
Click the Enrol me button to enrol in this course. For public available courses, the enrolment is automatic. You can now access all resources, including quizzes, for this course.
Go back to the index page.
